Sermon Outline 2.9.25

Title: “The Ultimate Before & After"
Text: Romans 5:6-11

Theme: The gospel transforms us from weak, ungodly sinners into justified, reconciled, and joy-filled people.
Big Idea: Our identity in Christ is completely different from our past condition

Introduction: The Power of Transformation

I. BEFORE: Our Condition Without Christ (vv. 6, 8, 10)
  1. Weak (v. 6) – Helpless, unable to save ourselves.
  2. Ungodly (v. 6) – Opposed to God in our thoughts and actions.
  3. Sinners (v. 8) – Actively disobedient, falling short of God's glory.
  4. Enemies (v. 10) – Not just distant from God but hostile toward Him.

THE TURNING POINT: Christ’s Sacrificial Exchange (vv. 6-8)
  1. The Great Exchange: He Took Our Place
  2. "At the Right Time"—The Perfect Moment for Redemption
  3. Application: Trusting in the Exchange

AFTER: What We Gain Through Christ (vv. 9-11)
  1. Justified (v. 9) – Declared righteous by His blood.
  2. Saved from God’s wrath (v. 9) – No longer under judgment.
  3. Reconciled to God (v. 10) – No longer enemies, but brought near.
  4. Saved by His life (v. 10) – His resurrection guarantees our eternal security.
  5. Exulting in God (v. 11) – We now rejoice because we belong to Him.

RESPONSE: Living in the “After” The Blind Man Healed by Jesus (John 9:1-38)
