A Biblical Anthropology
Text: Romans 3:9-20
I. All Mankind is Under Sin (Romans 3:9-10)
• What does Paul mean by "under sin?"
• The result of living under sin
II. Man Under Sin (Romans 3:10-18)
A. God Describes Man’s Will Without Regeneration (vv10-12)
1. No one is righteous
2. No one understands
3. No one seeks God
4. No one goes the way of God
5. No one does anything of value.
6. No one does good.
B. God Describes Man’s Inclinations Under Sin (vv13-18)
7. Their throats are open graves (Ps 5:9)
8. Their tongues lie
9. Their lips hold poison (Ps 140:30)
10. Their mouths curse (Ps 10:7)
11. Their feet run to shed blood (Isa 59:7-8)
III. Man’s Response Under Sin (Romans 3:19)
• When the law speaks, people shut their mouths (3:19).
IV. Man Cannot Be Saved by an Act of the Will (Romans 3:20)
