Romans 3:21-31—Nov 10, 2024—Justification by Faith
Theme: Our greatest need is a legal standing with God because we are naturally rebels against God.

II. The Means of Justification (Rom 3:25)
III. The Aim of Justification (Rom 3:26)
IV. Three Implications of Justification by Faith (Rom 3:27-31)
Theme: Our greatest need is a legal standing with God because we are naturally rebels against God.
Things Paul has shown so far:
- God reveals Himself in nature but man suppresses the truth about God by his unrighteousness
- We are all sinners in need of salvation
- We cannot save ourselves by being good or doing good.
Intro: But now (Rom 3:21; 6:22; 7:6)
I. The Definition of Justification (Rom 3:21-24)
- What it is not
- What it is
- It is through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (v24)
- It is free (v24)
- It is by His grace (v24)
II. The Means of Justification (Rom 3:25)
- We are justified by or through faith but not “on account of” faith.
- 2 things God does: Transfers our guilt to Jesus & assigns us His righteousness.
III. The Aim of Justification (Rom 3:26)
- To manifest God’s glory in the salvation of man.
- We are saved by God from God
IV. Three Implications of Justification by Faith (Rom 3:27-31)
- Humility (vv27-28)
- Establishes one way for all (vv29-30)
- Upholds the law rather than subverts b/c it is based in a true righteousness (v31)
